Personality Figures
Any account of Arnhem is full of larger than life personalities. When Richard Attenborough made A Bridge Too Far, many American audiences thought a lot of the exploits were over the top. Attenborough had actually toned them down!
The rules feature rules for these over the top personalities and quite a few manufacturers make them. There is no figure however for Major Dickie Lonsdale so I converted my own from an Airfix German paratrooper.

Scenarios
When it comes to Operation Market Garden, the emphasis is very much on 2 Para and the supporting elements that reached the bridge. One of my aims is to create scenarios that feature the other 90% of the division.
As a result the first two demo games will be:
* 7KOSB clearing the DZ of Dutch SS before the 2nd airlift arrives
* Lonsdale Force (made up of the remnants of a number of units) against SS pioneers and Kreigsmarine personnel as part of Kampfgruppe Von Allworden as the Germans push to cut off the Cauldren at the Old Kirk in Oosterbeek.

Cover
Cover doesn't work equally, many accounts of the battle refer to increased HE effect among trees with the shattered trees turning into high velocity splinters.
Additionally direct fire HE had an increased effect when forced at buildings due to over pressure. Men of Arnhem refers to the troops digging trenches in the gardens between houses for protection from tank and SP firing.
As a result the rules will make the value of cover vary by the type of fire incoming.
